A Longview man is wanted for murder and attempted murder following a fatal stabbing on Terumi Lane earlier this week.

Detectives identified Alexander Lee Rogers, 51, as the suspect in the Aug. 5 attack that left Dawn Peters, 64, dead and Andrew Peters, 73, critically injured, according to Longview Police.

Rogers is described as white, 6-foot-2, about 190 pounds, and may be driving a partially spray-painted black BMW with Washington license plate BNU8712.

Rogers is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to still be in the Clark or Cowlitz County area, police said. Anyone who sees him is urged to call 911 immediately.

Bodycam still images released with the update were recorded during an unrelated contact with Rogers earlier in the day at the Longview Fred Meyer. Detectives and other local law enforcement agencies worked through the night searching for him and continuing the investigation.

Andrew Peters was airlifted to a hospital after the attack and is now in more stable condition, recovering locally, police said.

The stabbing was reported around noon on Aug. 5. Responding officers found the two victims inside a home on Terumi Lane. Witnesses told police the suspect fled before officers arrived.

Investigators did not speculate on a possible motive for the attacks.

Anyone with information is asked to call Longview Police at 360-442-5800 or text tips to 360-431-6397.

Additional details about Peters’ life were not immediately available. Loved ones are invited to share a statement, funeral details, and/or photos by emailing michael@pugetpress.com.
