A Lake Stevens family called 911 after a man carrying two sticks walked onto their property and approached a teenager.
The bizarre incident unfolded around 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at a residence near 20th Street SE and 99th Avenue SE, Polly Forster said on the “Lake Stevens Community” Facebook group.
Forster’s son had just stepped outside to warm up a vehicle when surveillance footage captured an unknown man walking down the driveway toward him, carrying two sticks.
The teen immediately returned inside the home and alerted his mom, who said she locked the door and watched as the man moved onto a neighboring property. Concerned for her family’s safety, she contacted police.
“He looked to be maybe under the influence or mental issues,” Forster wrote, noting the man appeared to be in his 20s. “Quick movements and intense stance.”
Forster asked anyone who may recognize the individual or have additional information to come forward so it can be shared with police. “I hope this person gets help,” she said, “but this was scary to us.”
