Free backpacks, supplies, haircuts, and health screenings are just some of the no-cost resources available to Tacoma families at a series of back-to-school events kicking off this August.

Back 2 School Bash

Hosted by Life Center Church, this annual bash offers free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, food, and more for local kids.

📅 When: Friday, August 16, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

📍 Where: Life Center Central Campus – 1717 South Union Avenue, Tacoma

Unstuff the Bus School Supply Giveaway

Communities in Schools is stepping in with a free supply giveaway aimed at supporting students across Pierce County.

📅 When: Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

📍 Where: McKinley Building – 3702 E McKinley Ave, Tacoma

Kids Health and Safety Fair

The Tacoma Police Department and City of Tacoma are teaming up to deliver a family-friendly event featuring health screenings, safety resources, entertainment, and plenty of giveaways.

📅 When: Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

📍 Where: Eastside Community Center – 1721 E 56th St, Tacoma

The Tacoma School District notes that more events may be added in the coming weeks. Families are encouraged to mark their calendars and take advantage of these free, community-driven efforts to set students up for success.
