A 22-year-old Vancouver man accused of robbing a U.S. Bank branch and fleeing on a bicycle has been arrested, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Elijah Evans was taken into custody on Thursday, Aug. 21, three days after the robbery at the branch on NE 117th Avenue, as Puget Press reported.

Investigators credited a public tip, along with coordination between sheriff’s detectives and the Vancouver Police Department, for the arrest.

Evans was booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of first-degree robbery with a firearm and two counts of felony harassment.

The incident happened around 11:35 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18. Deputies said a man entered the bank, implied he had a gun, and demanded money. He then fled with cash on a bicycle. No one was hurt during the robbery.

Detectives later recovered stolen cash and clothing linked to the crime, police said.
