A 15-year-old boy is in custody after allegedly attempting to stab a man during a domestic dispute in Long Beach.

Deputies responded to a home around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, after a verbal argument escalated into violence, according to the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses told investigators the teen left the room, retrieved a kitchen knife, and chased the victim outside. The boy reportedly tried several times to stab the man before bystanders stepped in, restrained him, and took the weapon away.

No one was injured during the incident, deputies said.

The teen was arrested without incident. He was booked into juvenile detention on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing.
