12-Year-Old Boy’s ‘Suspicious’ Death Under Investigation In Tacoma

Police are investigating the death of a 12-year-old boy found unresponsive in a south Tacoma home.

Officers were called to the 4000 block of South Lawrence Street for an unresponsive child just after 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, according to Tacoma Police.

Tacoma Fire Department crews also responded, but the boy was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detectives and crime scene technicians remained at the home into the evening as they worked to determine what happened. Police said the case is being treated as a suspicious death.

No additional details have been released about the child or circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities said updates will be provided as the investigation moves forward.
