Jefferson Healthcare is planning to expand medical services in Port Ludlow by converting a former bank building into a new clinic focused on specialty care and advanced diagnostics.

The healthcare provider recently purchased the former Kitsap Bank building across the street from its existing Port Ludlow clinic and pharmacy, according to an announcement from Jefferson Healthcare.

The new facility will allow the organization to add services that many patients currently have to travel outside the area to receive.

“The goal is to provide local access to specialty services, including dermatology,” Jefferson Healthcare Chief Operating Officer Jake Davidson said. “We also plan to bring imaging services to the community, including MRI.”

Expanding Local Healthcare Access

Jefferson Healthcare currently operates a clinic and pharmacy in Port Ludlow that provides primary care and family medicine services. The clinic also offers blood draws for patients with physician orders.

The planned expansion will add specialty care and advanced imaging services designed to serve residents in Port Ludlow and surrounding East Jefferson County communities.

Officials said additional specialty services are still being evaluated as the organization works with providers to determine which programs can be supported long-term.

Project Still In Early Planning

The project is in the early planning stages as Jefferson Healthcare moves through the design, permitting, and construction process.

“We are hopeful that we will be able to open some — if not all — of the building in 2027,” Davidson said.

Design work is expected to be completed in the coming months before construction timelines are finalized.

Investment In Rural Healthcare

Health officials say the expansion reflects a broader effort to improve access to care in rural parts of Jefferson County.

“Our commitment to the health of our community is at the heart of the new Port Ludlow Imaging and Specialty Clinic,” Davidson said. “By bringing these expanded services to Port Ludlow and surrounding communities, we are fulfilling our mission to eliminate barriers to care.”

Jefferson Healthcare currently provides inpatient and outpatient medical services throughout East Jefferson County, including primary and specialty physician care.
