A man is pleading for tips after he was shot in the neck with a BB gun, allegedly by someone in a passing vehicle, while driving in Vancouver.
Caleb Clament said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, as he drove along Blandford Drive south of MacArthur Boulevard in the city’s Southcliff Park neighborhood.
In a post shared to a local Vancouver Facebook group, Clament said he was struck in the neck by what he initially believed may have been a pellet gun or slingshot fired from another vehicle.
The disturbing dashcam video shows Clament driving down the roadway as a red van passes in the opposite direction. Moments later, a loud popping sound can be heard before Clament clutches his throat in pain.
Clament said he attempted to turn around and follow the vehicle but lost sight of it.

“By the time I realized what happened & flipped around they were already long gone,” Clament wrote. “Looked for their vehicle for like half an hour.”
According to Clament, the suspect vehicle appeared to be a red 2008-2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. In the video, the rear passenger-side window appears to be open as the van passed by.
He said the dashcam footage was not clear enough to capture a readable license plate.
“Stay vigilant & be safe out there yall,” Clament wrote. “If this happens to you, PLEASE report it.”
Another user commenting on the post identified the suspected weapon as an airsoft gun, which fires plastic BB-style projectiles using compressed air or gas. Airsoft guns are commonly used in recreational combat games and training exercises but can still cause injuries, particularly to the eyes or face.
“Just a little higher that pellet could of caught you in the eye and caused a major accident that could of killed you and possibly other people,” Diane Itani wrote.
Clament said the Vancouver Police Department is investigating the incident. Puget Press has reached out to the agency for additional information.
