An Arlington police officer already facing child pornography-related charges is now being held without bail after investigators say he violated a court order and conditions of his release.

Dustin Bartlett, 41, was arrested May 29 at his Camano Island home after deputies learned he was allegedly in violation of both a domestic violence no-contact order and the conditions of his pre-trial release, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to Bartlett’s residence on Panoramic Drive and found him hiding inside the home before taking him into custody, according to the sheriff’s office.

Bartlett appeared in court by phone the following day. A judge set bail at $50,000 for the alleged no-contact order violation, according to the sheriff’s office. The court also revoked Bartlett’s release in his pending child pornography case, meaning he will now remain in custody without bail.

The new arrest comes less than two weeks after Bartlett was taken into custody during a child pornography investigation on Camano Island, as Puget Press reported.

Deputies served a search warrant at Bartlett’s residence on May 19 and arrested him on multiple counts of first-degree possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to Island County Sheriff Rick Felici.

Authorities have said the investigation remains active.

At the time of his arrest, Bartlett was employed as a police officer with the Arlington Police Department.

The department previously confirmed Bartlett was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of both the criminal case and an internal investigation.

In a statement issued after the initial arrest, department officials described the allegations as “deeply troubling” and said conduct of that nature, if proven, would be incompatible with the responsibilities of a law enforcement officer.

The Arlington Police Department said it is cooperating with investigators while limiting public comment because of the ongoing criminal investigation.
