Try a holiday coffee roast in downtown Sequim, hear a story told live in Port Angeles, or help plant trees where an Elwha River reservoir once stood.
Here are five things to do around Sequim and Port Angeles Nov. 6–8:
1. First Friday Art Walk Sequim
Sequim’s free, self-guided art walk takes on a fall theme Friday, and the color of the evening is brown.
The organizers’ suggestions include harvest colors and chocolate, which makes a stop at Forage Gifts & Northwest Treasures for its sweets tasting and a sample of Rainshadow Coffee’s holiday roast particularly fitting.
For an easy starting point, head to the Sequim Civic Center. Its Flora & Fauna exhibition features 34 works by 34 regional artists, with a reception and live guitar from 5 to 7 p.m.
From there, you can head to West Washington Street to browse the galleries and shops.
When: Friday, Nov. 6, 5–8 p.m. Civic Center reception from 5–7 p.m.
Where: Multiple venues. Start at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St., Sequim, WA.
Cost: Free.

2. 27th Annual Forest Storytelling Festival
The Story People of Clallam County bring live storytelling to Field Hall, with solo performances, workshops and open mics.
Friday evening’s show features Megan Wells, Gene Tagaban and Andy Offutt Irwin. All three also appear in Saturday afternoon’s finale.
If you’re curious about telling a story yourself, Saturday starts with a free gathering of storytelling groups from around the Pacific Northwest. The morning workshops cover subjects such as choosing more vivid language and finding the story in your own life.
When: Friday, Nov. 6, sessions at 9 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., with the evening performance from 7–9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, open house from 9–10 a.m., morning workshops starting at 10:30 a.m. and the finale from 1:45–3:45 p.m.
Where: Field Arts & Events Hall, 201 W. Front St., Port Angeles, WA
Cost: Free open house with RSVP. Tickets are $30 per paid segment or $70 for a full festival pass.

3. Port Angeles Farmers Market
The Saturday market at the Gateway pavilion is a good place to pick up something for dinner or browse on your way through downtown.
The market’s listings include produce, seafood, baked goods and work by local makers.
The market runs year-round, but the organizer lists shorter hours for fall and winter. Go before 2 p.m. if you’re building your Saturday around a stop here.
When: Saturday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., per the market organizer’s fall and winter schedule.
Where: Gateway Transit Center Pavilion, 133 E. Front St., at Lincoln Street, Port Angeles, WA
Cost: Free to browse. Purchases vary by vendor.

4. Elwha River Planting at Former Lake Aldwell
The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and Clallam Conservation District are inviting volunteers to help plant more than 1,000 native trees and shrubs in the former Lake Aldwell reservoir. As the trees grow, they’ll help shade the river and improve fish habitat.
It’s a chance to see a part of Elwha restoration that takes years and happens one planting at a time. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.
Space is limited, so register before heading out. The district sends meeting and parking directions by email and uses a waitlist if the event fills.
When: Saturday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
Where: Former Lake Aldwell reservoir, Lake Aldwell Road, Port Angeles, WA. Exact meeting point sent to registrants.
Cost: No fee listed. Advance registration required.

The group plays from noon to 1:30 p.m., with views of the waterfront from the lounge.
Doors open at 11 a.m. and free seats go first come, first served. If you’re bringing a group of four and want to guarantee seats together, the venue offers reserved tables for a $50 donation.
