A Marysville family is preparing to say their final goodbyes to a beloved husband and father who was killed in fiery crash in north Everett earlier this month.

Theodore Huger died when the vehicle he was in rolled multiple times on the northbound I-5 exit at 41st Street on Tuesday, Aug. 12, as Puget Press reported. The 45-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Everett Fire officials, the impact was so severe that the engine block separated from the car and sparked a brush fire near South 3rd Avenue.

Huger’s wife and 3-year-old daughter, who were also in the vehicle, were taken to the hospital. The couple’s 14-year-old son was not in the vehicle at the time.

Moments before the crash, a family member suffered a medical emergency, Erin Lorio revealed on a GoFundMe campaign.

Lorio remembered Huger as a man whose “warmth, love, and laughter touched everyone who knew him.”

Now, in addition to navigating immense grief, his family is facing financial challenges covering medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of their main source of support.

“We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time,” Lorio wrote. “Any contributions—big or small—will go directly toward ongoing living costs and ensuring the family has the stability they need in the days ahead.”

Funeral services for Huger are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Seattle.

Those wishing to help the family can donate via GoFundMe here.
