A Kitsap County community is mourning the sudden loss of a 16-year-old Silverdale girl who died following a medical emergency.
KyLee Dawn Tracy died around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, after suffering a seizure, according to a GoFundMe organized by Lindsay Weston.
KyLee was described by loved ones as a joyful and compassionate teenager whose presence left a lasting impression on those around her. She loved singing and dancing and was known for bringing energy and warmth into every room, according to the fundraiser.
Family members said she was surrounded by relatives at the time of the incident. Her nanny, aunt, and siblings were present, according to a Facebook post shared by Weston.
KyLee’s father, who was visiting San Juan Island at the time, rushed back to Port Angeles overnight after receiving the call, Weston said. The trip took several hours and underscored the urgency and heartbreak of the situation.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help cover funeral and related expenses as the family navigates the loss.
“KyLee was truly the light of our lives. She had a joyful spirit and a heart full of love, kindness, and compassion for everyone she met,” Weston wrote.
“She loved deeply and freely, and her warmth touched all who knew her. KyLee was a fighter, strong beyond her years, and she overcame challenges with courage and grace that inspired those around her.”
Tributes have poured in from those who knew KyLee, including teachers and relatives who remembered her as a bright and caring young woman.
“KyLee was an absolute ray of sunshine,” Central Kitsap High School teacher Bridget Hardiman said in a tribute. “I will never forget her infectious smile, sense of humor, and love for her teachers and classmates.”
