Janelle James, best known for her scene-stealing role on “Abbott Elementary,” is bringing her stand-up comedy to Tacoma for a weekend of shows.

The comedian, actress, and writer is set to perform at Super Funny Comedy Club on Friday, April 10, and Saturday, April 11.
Shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Friday, with an additional 9:30 p.m. performance on Saturday.

James has gained widespread recognition for her role as Ava Coleman, the unapologetically bold principal on the hit ABC series “Abbott Elementary.” Her performance has earned multiple awards, including a Critics Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, along with several Emmy nominations.
Beyond television, James has built a strong reputation in stand-up comedy, known for her sharp, unfiltered style that tackles topics ranging from relationships to life experiences.
She began her comedy career in 2009 and later rose to national attention after opening for Chris Rock on his 2017 Total Blackout tour.
James has also appeared on Netflix’s “The Standups” and released her debut comedy album, “Black and Mild,” in 2017.
Her Tacoma performances offer fans a chance to see her original stand-up material live, separate from her television work.
