A former Chick-fil-A employee is accused of stealing more than $80,000 by issuing hundreds of fake refunds for macaroni and cheese trays to his own credit cards.
The suspect, identified as Keyshun Jones, was arrested April 17 following a months-long investigation, according to the Grapevine Police Department.
Investigators said the case began in November 2025 after a local Chick-fil-A owner reported a suspected theft. Detectives reviewing surveillance footage later identified Jones, who had been fired about a month earlier, as the suspect, police said.
Authorities said the footage shows Jones entering the restaurant without authorization and going behind the counter, where he allegedly used the register to process roughly 800 orders of macaroni and cheese trays. Police said he then issued refunds for those transactions to his personal credit cards.
The total amount taken through the scheme exceeded $80,000, according to investigators.
Police said Jones avoided arrest for several months despite repeated attempts to locate him. He was eventually taken into custody with assistance from the Texas Attorney General’s Fugitive Task Force and the Fort Worth Police Department.
Jones now faces multiple felony charges, including property theft, money laundering, and evading arrest.
