Rashee Rice is back in legal trouble after authorities say the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver violated his probation by testing positive for THC.

Rice was ordered to serve 30 days in jail following the alleged probation violation. Dallas County Jail records show the 26-year-old was booked Tuesday afternoon.

If Rice remains jailed for the full 30 days, he would miss the Chiefs’ Organized Team Activities and mandatory minicamp ahead of the upcoming NFL season.

Rice is currently serving five years of probation tied to a 2024 street-racing crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in a multi-car collision.

Under a plea agreement connected to that case, Rice was required to complete a 30-day jail sentence at some point during his probation period. He also received a six-game suspension from the NFL.

The former SMU standout is also facing a civil lawsuit connected to the crash, with trial currently scheduled for June 9.

In a separate civil matter, Rice is also being sued by a former girlfriend who accused him of domestic violence.

Rice was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft and quickly emerged as one of quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ top offensive targets.

But injuries and suspensions have limited his availability during key stretches of his young NFL career.
