A Montesano man convicted of child rape and molestation charges will spend decades behind bars.
Michael Anthony Hogle was sentenced Monday in Grays Harbor County Court to 45 years to life after a jury found him guilty of one count of first-degree rape of a child and one count of first-degree child molestation, according to the Montesano Police Department.
The case began in early 2024 when officers responded to an apartment on the eastern side of the city for a reported domestic dispute.
While investigating the incident, officers obtained information that Hogle had allegedly sexually assaulted the young child of his girlfriend over several months.
Police launched a criminal investigation into the allegations. Hogle was later arrested, booked into jail, and charged with multiple child sexual assault offenses.
Last month, a Grays Harbor County jury convicted Hogle of first-degree rape of a child and first-degree child molestation following a trial.
Judge Katherine Svoboda sentenced Hogle to 540 months to life in prison, or 45 years to life, during sentencing proceedings Monday.
The Montesano Police Department said the investigation and prosecution involved the work of numerous law enforcement and support personnel over more than two years.
“The successful outcome of this case reflects the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of the law enforcement officers, prosecutors, victim advocates, and support personnel who worked tirelessly throughout the investigation and prosecution,” the agency said in a statement.
