The Valencia listing comes with a tranquil backyard and some decidedly retro finishes.
Most home tours don’t require a detour to the attic. This one might.
A modest house on a tree-lined cul-de-sac in Valencia has a connection that should get the attention of anyone who grew up watching Saved by the Bell: Its original owners were the family of Mark-Paul Gosselaar, better known to a generation of television viewers as Zack Morris.
And according to listing agent Carrie Olstad, a little piece of his past is still tucked away inside.
“He signed a beam in the attic,” Olstad wrote in an Oct. 18 Facebook post sharing the home’s celebrity connection.
The house at 26012 Lucerne Court is asking $875,000. For that, buyers get 1,656 square feet, a backyard made for lingering and an unusually good answer to “Anything interesting about your house?”

A little less Hollywood mansion, a little more actual childhood home
Part of the appeal here is how ordinary the place feels.
This is a single-story house in the Chelsea neighborhood of Valencia Summit, with a roughly 5,900-square-foot lot and an attached two-car garage. It’s the kind of setting where the celebrity detail feels like a discovery rather than the entire sales pitch.
There’s a practical distinction behind the advertised three-bedroom layout: The home currently has two bedrooms and an office or den, which the listing says could become a third bedroom. Its three bathrooms comprise two full baths and a half bath.
Inside, high ceilings and hardwood floors give the living spaces an airy feel. A brick fireplace anchors the living room, complete with a handy storage cubby beside it.
The kitchen, meanwhile, hasn’t dressed up for a modern farmhouse audition. Tile countertops and white appliances give it an older, lived-in look.
Buyers hoping for a freshly remodeled kitchen will likely see a future project; anyone exhausted by identical gray-and-white renovations might appreciate that it still has its own personality.
The primary suite carries some of that same period character, including a double-sink vanity with tile counters and backsplash. There’s even carpeting in the bathroom—a detail likely to inspire immediate opinions.

The backyard makes a strong case for staying home
French doors open to a covered patio, with a lattice-style overhead structure giving the outdoor space a pleasantly sheltered feel.
Beyond it are a green lawn, foliage along the fence and nearby palms. The listing description also highlights a vegetable garden and views toward trees, green space and distant mountains.
It’s easy to picture an unhurried weekend out here. No elaborate outdoor kitchen required.
Several less photogenic improvements deserve attention, too: The sellers report copper repiping, owned solar, fresh interior paint and new carpet in the primary suite. The exterior was painted in 2021.
The oversized garage offers room for two vehicles plus storage or a workbench. Above it is attic space—the part of the property that suddenly becomes much more interesting once you’ve heard Olstad’s story.
According to the MLS listing, HOA dues are $96 a month. The advertised Summit amenities include four pools and spas, tennis and pickleball courts, and walking trails. The listing also states there are no Mello-Roos assessments.

What does $875,000 buy in Valencia?
The asking price works out to about $528 per square foot.
For perspective, Redfin’s Valencia market report puts the neighborhood’s median sale price at approximately $800,000 over the three months ending September 2026, with a median sale price of $447 per square foot and median market time of 40 days.
Lucerne Court’s asking price per square foot is roughly 18% above that broader benchmark. That comparison includes different home types and neighborhoods within Valencia, so it provides context rather than a verdict on this particular house’s value. It also compares an asking price with completed sales.
The sellers have already adjusted their expectations: Zillow’s history shows the home was listed in August for $899,950, then reduced by $24,950 on Oct. 7. By mid-October, it had been listed for roughly two months.
The surrounding city is relatively affluent. U.S. Census Bureau estimates place Santa Clarita’s median household income at $123,062 for 2020–2024, expressed in 2024 dollars. That figure covers the entire city, rather than Valencia Summit specifically.
Gosselaar was 12 when the home was built in 1986, though it’s unclear exactly when his family moved in. Property records show a $255,000 sale in 1994, the year the family reportedly sold the house—by then, their son was a familiar face to Saved by the Bell fans.

From Zack Morris to a very different kind of television trouble
Gosselaar’s own story begins elsewhere in Southern California. Born in Panorama City in 1974, he was the youngest of four children, with Dutch and Indonesian family roots, according to his TV Insider biography.
His defining role arrived while he was still a teenager. He played Zack in Good Morning, Miss Bliss before the character carried into Saved by the Bell, which aired from 1989 to 1993.
The blond hair, enormous cellphone and ability to stop the action with a “time out” made Zack one of television’s most recognizable high-school schemers. Gosselaar continued the role in Saved by the Bell: The College Years in 1993–1994 and the 1994 television movie Wedding in Las Vegas.
Then came the work of convincing audiences he could be someone else.
He starred in the 1998 comedy Dead Man on Campus, then took a substantial dramatic turn as Detective John Clark Jr. on NYPD Blue from 2001 to 2005. Legal dramas followed, including Raising the Bar and, from 2011 to 2014, Franklin & Bash, opposite Breckin Meyer.
His later résumé stretches from baseball drama Pitch to thriller The Passage and family comedy Mixed-ish. His network biography reflects a career that has moved steadily between comedy and drama.
He also returned to Zack for Peacock’s Saved by the Bell revival in 2020–2021. More recently, he played the sinister kidnapper known as Sir in Found, a considerable departure from Bayside’s resident troublemaker.
NBC canceled the drama after two seasons in 2025.
Offscreen, Gosselaar is a father of four: Michael and Ava from his marriage to Lisa Ann Russell, and Dekker and Lachlyn with Catriona McGinn, whom he married in 2012.
A family profile originally reported by PEOPLE describes the actor’s life as a parent, while his January 2025 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show returned to the subjects of marriage, children and life after teen stardom.
That makes the appeal of the Lucerne Court listing fairly easy to understand. It offers a glimpse of the ordinary family life behind a familiar television face.
While the next owners may have plans for those tile counters, they might want to leave that attic beam alone.
