A 25-year-old Bremerton father who was struck while riding his bicycle has died from his injuries, leaving behind two young children as the community rallies to support them.
Spencer Capdepon was hit from behind on Wednesday, Aug. 6, while biking just minutes from his home, according to a GoFundMe created by family friend Bryttani Zampardi. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with severe internal injuries.
On Sunday, Aug. 10, relatives confirmed he had died. “Gone too soon, but forever a hero — Spencer’s love, hard work, and kindness live on through the lives he saved,” the family wrote on the fundraising page, adding that his organs were donated.
Remembered As A Devoted Father
Capdepon was the father of a 2-year-old daughter, Genavieve, and the adoptive dad of 4-year-old Elijah, according to his obituary. “He was proudly the ‘dada’ he didn’t have to be — but chose to be, every single day,” relatives said on GoFundMe.

Family members described him as hardworking, kind, and full of potential. He had been preparing to start his own roofing company and worked throughout Kitsap County in construction. His “kindness, joy, generosity, and loyalty were the pillars of his life,” his memorial said.
Capdepon was also remembered as athletic and vibrant, participating in baseball, football, MMA, and boxing while growing up. He attended Bremerton High School before beginning his career in construction.
Community Support
Because of the circumstances of the crash, the driver’s insurance will not provide financial assistance, according to relatives. Funds raised by the GoFundMe campaign will help cover funeral costs and provide ongoing support for Capdepon’s children.
The family said they were grateful for the donations, prayers, and encouragement they have received. “We are heartbroken, but we take comfort knowing that Spencer’s kindness will live on through the lives he helped save,” they wrote.
Capdepon is survived by his daughter, parents Alfred and Michaela, and siblings Stoncia, Schuyler, and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sheila Olander and Carol Olson, and his friend Brock Criss.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, Aug. 16, at Evergreen Park in Bremerton.
