A man and woman were found dead inside a Spanaway home in what investigators believe was a drug overdose.

The discovery was made on Monday night, Aug. 18, at a residence on 17th Avenue Court East, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

A 68-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were found deceased inside the residence. Drugs were located near the bodies, and both were last seen at a party where cocaine was present, a sheriff’s office spokesperson told Puget Press.

Investigators said the deaths are not considered suspicious and no criminality is suspected.

The names of the deceased have not been publicly released. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine their official cause and manner of death.
