A Port Angeles drug dealer who sparked a fire and rammed patrol vehicles during a chaotic gas station arrest will spend the next decade in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges tied to a fentanyl trafficking case
Joshua Goudie, 37, — also known as Joshua Roaf — pleaded guilty Wednesday, Feb. 25, to reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and two counts of second-degree assault, according to the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
A judge sentenced Goudie to 10 years in prison followed by 18 months of Department of Corrections supervision.
The case began Dec. 18, 2025, when a plainclothes detective with the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team spotted a vehicle linked to Goudie traveling in Port Angeles, according to the prosecutor’s office. Investigators knew Goudie had an active Department of Corrections warrant for his arrest and began monitoring the vehicle.
Detectives with OPNET joined the surveillance effort and believed Goudie was driving the vehicle, prosecutors said.
Authorities were aware that Goudie had previously fled from law enforcement in vehicles on multiple occasions. Investigators waited for an opportunity to arrest him in a way that would minimize risk to the public, prosecutors said.
OPNET detectives later observed the vehicle stop at gas pumps at a station on Taylor Cutoff Road.
Clallam County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived and found Goudie outside the vehicle fueling it. When deputies approached, Goudie jumped into the vehicle and attempted to drive away while the gas pump nozzle was still inserted in the tank, prosecutors said.
Deputies used their patrol vehicles to pin Goudie’s car from both sides to prevent him from escaping.
Goudie continued accelerating forward and backward, striking the patrol vehicles in an attempt to break free, prosecutors said.
A deputy deployed spike strips, but the spinning tires of Goudie’s vehicle caused the spikes to ignite.
Deputies eventually broke the passenger-side window and used a TASER device to subdue Goudie. He was taken into custody along with a passenger who also had an outstanding warrant.
Investigators later discovered a fanny pack Goudie was wearing that contained approximately 3.44 grams of suspected fentanyl, according to the prosecutor’s office.
A search warrant executed on the vehicle uncovered roughly 64 additional grams of suspected fentanyl, along with packaging materials, a scale, and cell phones.
