A Seattle-based dog rescue says it’s struggling to understand why one of its most affectionate pups is still waiting to be adopted.
Evergreen Pug Rescue is spotlighting Myrtle, a 2-year-old pug described as a “cuddle queen” with a big personality—and no shortage of love to give.
“We’re genuinely confused at this point—Myrtle is 2, medically cleared, ready to go… and still waiting?!” the rescue wrote in a Facebook post.
Myrtle is what many would call a classic “Velcro dog.” If you’re sitting, she’s in your lap. If you’re up and moving, she’s right behind you.
“She’s affectionate, entertaining, and just the kind of dog who makes everyday life better,” the rescue said.
When Myrtle first arrived, she needed some help with potty training. But with consistent routines and support from foster caregivers, she has made significant progress.
Beyond her cuddly side, Myrtle also has a playful, curious streak. “She’s always keeping an eye on what’s going on—nothing gets past her,” the rescue said.
Myrtle gets along well with other dogs, but she tends to form strong bonds with her person. The rescue notes she can have the occasional “queen bee” moment, a trait they say only adds to her charm.
Recently spayed and medically cleared, Myrtle is ready for a permanent home. “We have a feeling her person is going to be very, very lucky,” the rescue said.
For now, though, one question remains. “How has no one scooped her up yet?!” the group added.
