Abandoned Pug ‘Cherry’ Seeks Forever Home After Park Rescue

Cherry the pug Cherry the pug. (Evergreen Pug Rescue)

A 5-year-old pug abandoned in a park is now getting a fresh start in the Pacific Northwest, and already winning hearts along the way.

Cherry, described as “as sweet as cherry pie,” is being taken in by Seattle-based Evergreen Pug Rescue after being found abandoned alongside another pug. Despite her rough start, the rescue says Cherry has remained gentle, playful, and affectionate.

She recently completed a veterinary checkup and has been medically cleared ahead of her transfer to the region from a partner rescue, known as The Pug Queen.

Cherry’s foster caregiver reports she is both house-trained and pad-trained, with no accidents. She enjoys chewing on stuffed animals, getting attention, and curling up for cuddles.

At 5 years old, she still has plenty of energy and a playful personality, including a tendency to “alligator roll” during playtime.

For now, the once-abandoned pug is on track for a much brighter future — one filled with toys, attention, and, hopefully, a permanent home.
