A 13-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly pointing a stolen handgun at a driver in Bremerton.

Deputies responded around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, after a 31-year-old motorist called 911 to report that two teenage boys were walking in the roadway near West Loxie Eagans Boulevard and South National Avenue, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver told deputies he passed the teens before one of them allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at his vehicle. No shots were fired.

A Kitsap County sheriff’s sergeant later located two juveniles matching the descriptions provided by the caller. During a search of one of the suspects, the second juvenile allegedly ran away and threw a handgun while fleeing, deputies said.

The boy was found moments later hiding underneath a truck and taken into custody.

Investigators said the handgun was unloaded and had been reported stolen.

The 13-year-old was booked into the Kitsap County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree assault, possession of a stolen firearm, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and possession of cannabis.
