A King County judge on Friday ordered a 21-year-old man held on $5 million bail after police arrested him in connection with an alleged human trafficking operation centered at a luxury rental home in south Bellevue.
The suspect was arrested Wednesday after Bellevue police SWAT officers served a search warrant at a home in the Lakemont neighborhood, according to police.
During a first appearance hearing Friday, a judge found probable cause to hold the man for investigation of four counts of human trafficking, one count of money laundering and one count of leading organized crime.
Complaints About Mansion Parties Spark Investigation
According to Bellevue police, the investigation began last fall after neighbors repeatedly contacted authorities about large parties taking place at a rental home in the 16400 block of Southeast 44th Place.
Police said the events were heavily promoted on social media and adult-content platforms and sometimes attracted hundreds of attendees.
“Some of these parties were over 300 people, and this is a single-family home in a quiet neighborhood,” Officer Seth Tyler said.
Over several months, Bellevue police responded to more than 100 incidents at the property, including reports involving assaults, driving under the influence, weapons complaints, reckless driving and minors possessing alcohol.
Investigation Took a Dark Turn
As detectives continued their investigation, police said they uncovered evidence suggesting the property was being used to recruit young women into an online adult-content operation.
Investigators allege women between the ages of 18 and 22 were recruited with promises of significant earnings through platforms such as OnlyFans and Chaturbate.
According to court documents, several women told detectives they later lost access to accounts created in their names after managers changed passwords and assumed control over finances, content distribution and account operations.
Women interviewed by investigators also alleged they were pressured to create increasingly explicit content, livestream for extended periods and recruit additional women into the operation.
“[Social media posts] gave people the impression these were going to be fun parties to go to,” Tyler said. “For these young ladies, this was anything but fun. This was a nightmare for them.”‘
Disturbing Allegations
Prosecutors outlined additional allegations during Friday’s court hearing.
“He spit on them, poured spaghetti over his head and pointed guns at them, and made them crawl across the floor like a dog,” Senior Deputy Prosecutor Alexandra Voorhees alleged during the hearing.
Court documents contain allegations that women were assaulted, intimidated, restrained, and threatened while living and working at the property. Some women alleged firearms were used to intimidate them.
One woman told detectives an account created in her name generated nearly $230,000 in revenue over a one-year period but alleged she never received the proceeds and was denied access to the account.
Phones, Laptops and Financial Records Uncovered
Detectives allege the operation was connected to a business identified in court records as Nova Talent Management and involved recruiters, managers, content creators, and financial accounts operating across multiple properties in Bellevue and Renton.
During Wednesday’s search, investigators reported seizing more than 300 cell phones, more than 50 laptops, financial records, business documents, cashier’s checks, and a whiteboard labeled “Content Plan.”
Police also reported finding banking documents and records that investigators believe show hundreds of thousands of dollars moving through business accounts.
Authorities additionally seized two luxury vehicles during the search, including a McLaren sports car.
Police Warn Parents About Party Promotions
Bellevue police said the case serves as a reminder for parents to carefully monitor events advertised online.
“Officers witnessed numerous parents dropping off high-school-aged children at this home, likely unaware of the environment and activities taking place inside,” Bellevue Police Capt. Joe Nault said.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
Formal felony charges have not yet been filed. The suspect’s name is being withheld pending a charging decision expected early next week.
Bellevue police said additional arrests and charges are possible.
