A bright, Hawaiian-inspired café serving poke, ube waffles, and island-style breakfasts is giving Silverdale a taste of Maui.

Mai Maui Cafe, located at 9857 Silverdale Way, opened in December 2025 and has quickly become a go-to spot for breakfast, brunch, and coffee with a tropical twist.

Owned by Maui native Mai Kekona, the café blends traditional Hawaiian dishes with modern touches, offering what it describes as “island soul food served with the aloha spirit.”

The small but cheerful space is designed to feel like a mini escape, with large windows, upbeat energy, and a menu built around fresh, vibrant ingredients. Guests can dine in or take their meals to go, with options ranging from hearty breakfast plates to lighter açaí bowls and poke.

Breakfast is a major draw, with hot dishes served daily until 1 p.m. — or until they sell out. Popular savory options include the Kalua Loco Moco, featuring slow-roasted kalua pork over rice with poached eggs and gravy, and the Local Deluxe, which pairs furikake rice with marinated eggs and a choice of protein.

Eggs Benedict fans have several options, including spam, smoked salmon, and Canadian bacon, all topped with hollandaise on an English muffin.

For something sweeter, the café’s ube mochi waffles stand out. Served with a rich ube mascarpone sauce and topped with fresh fruit, the dish has quickly become a customer favorite.

Other menu highlights include teriyaki spam musubi, avocado toast, protein bowls, and buttered buns with a variety of jams and jellies.

The drink menu rounds out the experience with espresso drinks, lattes, cappuccinos, teas, ciders, blended coffees, Italian sodas, and hot chocolate.

Early feedback has been strong. Mai Maui Cafe currently holds a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, with customers praising both the food and the welcoming atmosphere.

“Great ambience! The food was really delicious and I received excellent service. Will come back!” one reviewer wrote.

Another described the café as a “bright Silverdale escape,” noting that the combination of island music, friendly service, and flavorful food creates a relaxing experience.

Mai Maui Cafe is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering a slice of Hawaiian hospitality in Kitsap County. Find out more on its website.
