Downtown Seattle just got a fresh wave of flavor.

Marin, a new restaurant at 1101 Fourth Avenue inside the reimagined Kimpton Hotel Monaco, opened in mid-June and is already drawing praise for blending Pacific Northwest bounty with global coastal traditions.

A Fresh Take Where Land Meets Sea

Rooted in Seattle’s maritime heritage, Marin brings together local ingredients and international inspiration in a setting designed to feel both well-traveled and authentically Northwest.

The renovated dining room—bright, modern, and welcoming—sets the stage for a menu that feels adventurous yet approachable.

“The atmosphere is bright and cheery…service is excellent,” one diner wrote on OpenTable, noting the restaurant’s Turkish and Lebanese influences. “Would recommend for drinks and bites or a full-on meal.”

What’s on the Menu

Marin’s lineup is designed for sharing and savoring across the day—breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner.

Shareables include a silky Fava Hummus with lemon and warm pita, Smoked Trout Dip topped with roe, and crisp Fried Pacific Oysters with caper-dill tartar.

For something sweeter, the kitchen recommends golden Loukoumades—Greek doughnuts drizzled with honey and cinnamon syrup.

Main plates travel the globe while staying rooted in Washington farms and waters:

  • Grilled B.C. King Salmon with summer ratatouille and basil pistou
  • Steamed Local Manila Clams in white wine cream with Yakima corn and bacon
  • Moroccan Roasted Chicken with ras el hanout, apples, dates, and herb salad
  • Rainier Beer-Battered Fish and Chips with fennel slaw
  • Painted Hills Beef Burger with Tillamook cheddar and Walla Walla onions

The grill and rotisserie play a starring role, lending char and depth to vegetables, seafood, and meat alike.

Cocktails with Coastal Character

Marin’s bar program leans creative, with playful spins on classics:

  • Marin Martini with Browne Northwest gin, mastiha liqueur, thyme, and oregano
  • Marigold Negroni infused with calendula vermouth
  • Olympic Old Fashioned with rye, walnut, and kalamata-date demerara
  • Midnight Mystery, a moody espresso-vodka number laced with cardamom

A rotating list of draft beer, mocktails, and Washington wines rounds out the offerings.

Early Praise

The reviews are already rolling in.

  • “The newly renovated Marin was amazing! The new menu is tasty and décor fresh and modern. The staff is warm and inviting. Would definitely go again,” another OpenTable reviewer wrote.
  • “Happy to have a new dining experience in the neighborhood,” added a guest who praised the restaurant’s approachable global influences and convenient downtown location.

The Verdict

With its mix of global seaside traditions, Northwest ingredients, and hotel-chic setting, Marin is shaping up to be more than a lobby restaurant—it’s a destination in its own right.

Whether you’re downtown for a show at Benaroya or simply chasing the smell of grilled salmon, Marin offers a reason to linger.
