A new waterfront restaurant blending upscale dining with a lively, approachable vibe is set to open in Bremerton this week.
Char Kitchen will officially open its doors at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, bringing Northwest-inspired cuisine and sweeping views of Sinclair Inlet to the Marina Square development.
Located at 240 Washington Ave., Suite 300, the restaurant and bar sits inside the Marina Square building along the Bremerton waterfront, positioning itself as both a destination dining spot and a casual go-to for locals.
The menu leans into bold, elevated comfort food with a regional twist. Guests can expect everything from burgers and smoked seafood to a two-and-a-half-pound tomahawk steak, along with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Dishes like cherry bourbon sticky ribs, stuffed mushrooms, and prawn alfredo round out a lineup designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes.
Behind the bar, Char Kitchen offers a rotating whiskey selection, a curated wine cellar, and cocktails with a bit of flair—including a smoky old fashioned prepared by infusing the glass with smoke.
Owner and operator Chuck Huck said he’s eager to bring a high-energy, community-focused experience to Bremerton.
“We will certainly take our food, drinks, and service seriously, but we also believe that this industry should be fun…with energy,” Huck said ahead of opening. “Thanks again for the opportunity to serve the amazing Bremerton community—it’s an honor.”
The space also includes a private dining and meeting room that can accommodate up to 35 guests, with plans for future offerings like catering, grab-and-go options, and rooftop events for weddings and gatherings.
Early impressions from the restaurant’s soft opening suggest Char Kitchen is already making an impact.
TikTok user Grama Carolyn described the experience as “upscale meets street food with some of the best views around,” noting details like handmade tables and unique artwork that elevate the atmosphere.
She highlighted the cherry bourbon sticky ribs as “super tender, packed with flavor,” and praised drinks like the mai tai and coconut mocktail.
Online reviews echoed that enthusiasm.
“Went to the soft opening last night and let me tell you, these guys are ready,” Shane Wood wrote in a Google review. “An amazing view, great service, great food…you will go back again and again.”
Another reviewer, Jennifer Anderson, called Char Kitchen “a standout,” adding, “Nothing else like it this side of Seattle.”
With its combination of waterfront scenery, polished-but-playful atmosphere, and a menu built to impress, Char Kitchen is aiming to quickly become a new staple in Bremerton’s growing dining scene.
