Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying a man captured on surveillance video outside a Silverdale apartment complex after a concerning late-night incident involving a young child.

Deputies are working to identify the man for questioning following the incident, which happened around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, according to Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say the man was recorded prowling outside an apartment complex in the 12100 block of Cloudy Peak Lane. Surveillance footage shows him kneeling near a ground-floor bedroom window where a 6-year-old girl was sleeping, deputies said.

It remains unclear whether the man was attempting to open the window or looking inside, according to the sheriff’s office.

The child’s parents, who live in the apartment with their four children, reported the incident.

Deputies released several surveillance images of the man, though the photos are dark and grainy. Investigators are urging anyone who recognizes the individual or has information about the incident to call 911 and reference case number K26-002279.

No arrests had been made as of Friday, April 3.
