A judge reduced bail for a 20-year-old man accused of carrying out a violent home invasion and stabbing in Everett.

Connor Wohlleben appeared in court Wednesday, April 15, following the Monday morning attack at a home in the 1200 block of 112th Street SW.

Investigators allege Wohlleben forced his way into the home after knocking and receiving no answer, then moved through the residence before attacking multiple people inside, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The victims told deputies Wohlleben was a “friend of a friend” they had met only a few times, according to court documents.

During the attack, Wohlleben allegedly acted erratically and made statements about being “sent by Jesus” and acting as “the right hand of Jesus,” according to prosecutors.

A 45-year-old mother and her 18-year-old daughter were stabbed and suffered life-threatening injuries, authorities said. A 22-year-old woman in the home intervened and restrained Wohlleben until deputies arrived.

Wohlleben’s attorney raised concerns about his mental competency during Wednesday’s hearing. As the issue was being discussed, Wohlleben interrupted proceedings, saying, “Pause, look at the heart, Jesus is a heart. God is love.”

Prosecutors had asked the court to keep bail at $1 million, but the judge lowered it to $500,000. The court also ordered Wohlleben to surrender any weapons, comply with a no-contact order, and undergo a mental health evaluation.

Wohlleben’s father told the court the allegations were out of character for his son, while his attorney said he would not pose a risk if properly medicated.

Wohlleben also asked the judge to reduce bail, stating he is unemployed and relies on his family for support.

He remained at the Snohomish County jail as of Thursday, April 16.
